I Worry About Thee - 12/17/08

My great-grandmother Emma Josephine used to say (according to her grandson my Dad anyway), "there is something wrong with everyone except me and thee, and I'm beginning to worry about thee."

  1. I'm fine. Don't know exactly why I posted that other than the blogosphere is very very quiet today. :-)

  3. WOW, that's Jenny's profile. (Except Jenny's nose is a little less sharp)

  4. sounds like something she'd say too... heheheh... you have your own great-grandmom for a daughter!

  5. She would say that only without the "thee" part.

  6. I am starting to get worried about the both of ye's.

  7. Just a HUG tonight! I have been baking up a storm and keeping guard over the goodies from the guys...lol They are sneaky!! It IS like looking at Jenny!

  8. Jenny is awfully quiet on this subject.

  9. Now that I've thought about this overnight, I realize that her saying was actually "Everyone is crazy but thee and me and I'm beginning to wonder about thee."

  10. either way, I'm worried about "thee" too LOL

  11. D you're alive!!!

Bennett, I think I prefer the "crazy" version. Don't know why I'd forgotten that part. Must be all the festivities going on around here (not) LOL.

  12. I'm trying to decide if I'm offended or not.

  13. Don't be. She was lovely as a younger woman. I think its just the profile (not the nose though) that resembles you.

  14. There. I posted a picture of her with my Grandfather when he was a baby; circa 1899.

  15. That's your grandFATHER? lol...Why'd she dress him like a girl?

    ReplyDelete
  16. They did that back then. I have a pic of my father-in-law taken in 1914 and he was all dressed up in a lacey gown.

  17. I have pictures of my grandfather in a dress too, with basically the same haircut. I like the second picture you put up as well. I can still see the resemblance.

Jenny, why would you be offended that you look like your ancestors!? That just means you came from good looking stock already!

  18. I don't think they put boys in pants until they were a little older back then. Babies wore dresses.

The picture was taken by my great-grandfather who had a photography studio at the time.

  19. Because, Sharon, I am trying to convince everyone that I was adopted. DUH!!! lol

  20. Have you ever thought of wearing your hair in a bun?

  21. :) I love old pictures like these... your great grandma was wise :)

  22. I should post the video of Jenny I have that made me think of her when I saw this profile. Her hair is up, and she's sipping a fruity beverage at M.R. Ducks in OC, right before we pitched an old couple into the brine and overtook their table.

Jenny, you told me for years that you were trying to convince everyone that *DAVE* was adopted and that you were the one and only original. Why the sudden shift?!

  23. Sharon, keep in mind that as one ages, their recollections seem to change just a tad so it's understandable that Jenny would like to change her tune a bit..CRS is starting already...poor thing.

I'm sure Jenny wishes she had just stayed incognito on this subject now :-)

  24. Who cares...Jenny's going to Cabo. lol

  25. Thanks YahYah, she was a down to earth Quaker lady. I know she was a great person cause my Dad loved her very much.

Sharon, remember Jenny knows where you live. Give second thoughts to posting video that might prove her wrong. LOL

Dorene, and they say we're the ones with CRS!

Cabo, smabo. I guess that means I'll be baby-sitting.

    ReplyDelete
  26. No, you'll be worse than baby-sitting...you'll be teen-sitting...

  27. Ooooooooooooooooh Noooooooooooooooooooooo!

Isn't CRS the name of a train?

    ReplyDelete
  28. We have a problem; I really don't know what CRS is and I even googled it. I got Catholic Relief Services, Congressional Resource System, and an obscure syndrome related to German measles. Is it a family joke?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Also Counsel of Residential Specialists. Other stuff. None seem to fit.

  30. CRS = Can't Remember Shit

We didn't make it up; its a pretty common expression around here.

    ReplyDelete
  31. how embarrassing. I think I have to go now.

    ReplyDelete
  32. No really I am laughing that is so funny. I googled it and was wracking my brain trying to figure it out. Now I am laughing at myself.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Don't be embarrassed. Maybe people are just more forgetful in the mid-Atlantic region of the US.

    ReplyDelete
  34. We are pretty forgetful up here in - um - oh, yeah, Michigan.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Sorry about that Bennett, I didn't want to type it all out.

Congrats Jenny on the Cabo trip..glad it worked out for you. Your mom will love the company (I think..I'm sure she remembers what you were like as a teenager, maybe she won't "love it" but she loves Megan).

    ReplyDelete
  36. Cheryl, I think I'm pretty safe. If Jenny is beginning to suffer from CRS, then she probably doesn't remember where I live either. :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think Multiply is starting to suffer from CRS...I made a comment 10 minutes ago, and it still hasn't shown up here!!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Maybe you only *think* you made the comment... lol.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Of course, it would have helped if I'd have been signed in when I made the comment...but my picture was showing up next to the add a comment box...so why wouldn't I be signed in??? Oh well, anyway....

Thanks Dorene - it's not 100% sure yet, but my boss seems to think that my nomination to go will be accepted.

And Sharon - don't worry, I wrote your address down...somewhere....
