My Questions of the Day:
1. Why did the roomba stop working under the middle of the bed????
2. Why do the new kitchen chairs have to be assembled? by me?
3. Why can't the Salvation Army come pick up the extra furniture in the living room before my dinner party Friday night?
4. Where does all this dust come from?
5. How did I get a cat, and why does he think I need to get up at 6:30 a.m.?
1 - 3 are stumpers. 4 - Well, that is a stumper too. 5 - You took the cat in, kind person that you are, and he thinks you will feed him.
ReplyDeleteIf you are having a party, and do not wish for it to be a surprise party, play careful attention to the assembly of the chairs. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Have fun at your dinner party Friday night!
ReplyDeleteCook the cat
ReplyDeleteBennett, luckily those chairs don't have to be ready for Friday. I think I may rely on the kindness of children to put those together. You're right about #5.
ReplyDeleteIggy, the cat has too much fur to be good eating.
Jerene, thanks.
appetizer
ReplyDelete1. Dunno.
ReplyDelete2. moneymoneymoney
3. Sigh...
4. Navels?
5. Cats happen. They choose. Gee, you're lucky! My cats have always thought 5:30 AM was right.
1. It needed to rest and consider question number 4.
ReplyDelete2. Somebody has to put them together.. think of it as the adult version of a wooden puzzle.
3. Try calling Purple Heart and see if they can beat Salvation Army.. it'll be the Furniture-bowl.
4. Dust in homes, offices, and other human environments consists of human skin cells, plant pollen, human and animal hairs, textile fibers, paper fibers, minerals from outdoor soil, and many other materials which may be found in the local environment. (That would give any roomba pause.)
5. You have a cat? I think they are programmed to boot you out of bed in the morning so you can take the day watch since they take the night duty.
I agree with Sharon.
ReplyDeleteYou're both keeping me laughing.
I think the dust in my house comes from the idiots speeding down the dirt road.
You can solve the cat problem by getting a nasty dog like mine.
Sharon, you may be right about the cats, but I always thought it was about breakfast... Could be both, I suppose!
ReplyDelete1. They like to hide there, because they think you won't find them. No one ever said they were very smart.
ReplyDelete2. They don't necessarily have to be. You could scatter the pieces around the room and call them art.
3. If you had let me put them on Craigslist, they could have been gone 3 days ago, AND someone would have paid you $50 for the pleasure of hauling them away.
4. Dust happens.
5. Consider yourself lucky that Max likes to sleep in. Mine get started sometime between 5 and 5:30am, and then they tag-team me until I get up.
When you put these questions up, I am wondering if you thought your friends (and family) would put up such perkily sassy answers.
ReplyDeleteBennett, when I posted those questions, I was just feeling sorry for myself that my day wasn't going quite as planned. I'm glad that everyone was able to turn that around.
ReplyDeleteSharon, ewwww. I don't want all those things that make up dust in my house! I like your theory on the cats getting us up to take the day shift. Jenny always liked puzzles!!! Hint, hint, hint.
ReplyDeleteJenny, I know Craigslist rocks. I did put the metal filing cabinet on Freecycle yesterday and I think someone is going to pick it up this evening. If she does, I have another person just dying to come and get it. Max must have read the blog, because he woke me up at 5:30 this morning.
Sally I don't have a dirt road, but I do have idiots speeding by none the less.
"Max must have read the blog, because he woke me up at 5:30 this morning."
ReplyDeleteI knew it! Actually, I suspect they send e-mail as well...
He's even smarter than we thought, then, because I didn't post my comment about my cats getting me up at 5:30 until 10:15 this morning!!! He must have time traveled!
ReplyDeleteI love Max.
ReplyDeleteMax is very smart. He's been very vocal this morning for no apparent reason. I keep saying "Lassie, has Timmy fallen in the well again?" and he just looks at me and meows.
ReplyDeleteJesa, of course they send e-mail!!! That's why he's always lying across my wrists when I'm trying to type. He wants his turn.
Its hard not to love Max isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI need to add Question #6 today. Why did the cat throw up under the desk when I can't get down on my knees to clean it up?? I'm going to have to come up with a tool for this job.
ReplyDeleteSee my comment on your next blog.
ReplyDeletePut some kitty litter on it. This will dry it up and keep it from smelling. In a bit you can vacuum the whole mess up.
Why? Cats and men will do as they please and dogs and women have to just get used to it.
:-)
ReplyDeleteI especially love it when he's really happy to see you and he flips his head and body upside down and then proceeds to smack his head over and over where he's laying, producing a loud THUNK every time. That's true love if he's willing to risk concussion for you.
ReplyDelete=:D I love it, lol... love your sense of humor Cheryl. Hang in there! If the cat hasn't let you know why he's there, I don't think it'll be long. Cats have that special *way* of letting you know "where it's at". I've got 3 of'em. It took all of us about 2 and a half years to figure out our oldest cat. We're still workin' on the other 2, lol. The only thing we truly understand, at this point, is ... it's their house, we just live in it. =;)
ReplyDeleteHey Kat! I just figured out this week that Max came into my life to comfort me. I think you're right its his house now, he just lets me live in it.
ReplyDeleteCheryl, of course he does. He likes you a lot and you have opposible thumbs for use in opening doors and using can openers and holding cat brushes. And he threw up under the deck so you wouldn't step in it and fall - very considerate of him. Mine usually threw up on the already-somewhat-slippery kitchen floor to let me know their stomachs were empty and I could feed them again. Cats are very helpful in these little matters, very considerate of their human house-mates in many little ways as well as the larger important ones of keeping them busy, exercised, and well-trained.
ReplyDeleteJessa, you understand cats very well! I must say I've had to step up my housework/exercise program to keep up with Max. Lots more sweeping up and dusting to do. Then there is all that lint roller use.
ReplyDeleteCats also teach us that a little cat hair can actually be quite decorative, and that the *most* important thing is to take time to pet the kitty... Cheryl, a friend has been stressed out at work and she was saying to me that there is an ecstatic cat where she is staying now - goes into ecstasy when he is rubbed under the chin. I suggested that she be very receptive when that was happening, like when she is receiving a healing, just relaxed and open. She reported back that it was an astonishing feeling. Most cats, certainly including Max, are natural healers and natural magicians. We just need to remember to be open and accepting of that... Love them, let yourself receive love!
ReplyDeleteJessa, Max is certainly sharing some healing energy with me. I'm starting to believe that he arranged to end up living with me at this time in my life. He is such a comfort.
