Meet Max - 10/30/08

This is Max.  He came to me through an in-family adoption (my future daughter in law is allergic to long haired cats).  He's 14 and very affectionate.  If he wasn't he might be in trouble as he insists that I get up at 7:30 every morning.  Anyone who knows me well, knows I am not a morning person.

I just love this fur baby.

  1. Did you take that picture? That looks like my old dining room chair...

  2. What a beautiful cat! I love the grey/brown patch over one eye. Makes me itch for my camera. Also I'd love to pet him his fur looks so soft.

  3. He is very beautiful - and looks like a cat who thinks. This can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending... but it's always an *interesting* thing!

  4. Jen, no I didn't take this picture Dave did at some point in time. He still looks the same though.

    Rebecca thanks.

Bennett his fur is soft and is now all over everything. I'm buying stock in lint rollers right now!

Iggy for a doctor you have some blood thirsty ideas LOL.

Jessa he not only thinks, but he talks; very vocal. He also lets me know when there are beings here from other worlds.

  8. This is going to sound weird, but when we had our old cat 'Couver, Tom would brush her, then lightly go over her body with duct tape. She loved it. The duct tape picked up a lot of stray white hairs that otherwise ended up all over. I really do emphasize the lightly part and also (do I really need to add this?) men sure do a lot with duct tape.

  9. Men may be on to something with duct tape Bennett. You know if it looked prettier we'd use more of it too. That's a good idea and I'll give it a try.

  10. Jerry you're right! And his dogs are named after food aren't they; Brownie and Sushi. LOL

Iggy, vampires specialize in blood too.

  11. yes they are named after food...hmmm...iggy is a vampire

  12. I *like* the idea of duct taping the cat...

  13. David, if he were mine, I'd miss him too. I hope she is worth it! I was sort of joking about the duct tape, but anyone who has ever tried to give an Abysinnian a pill would see the point...

  14. I gave my cat pills by crushing them and putting them in tuna fish juice.

  15. Oh, I'm going to have to find that email I got the other day about giving a cat a pill. It is hysterical.

Dave you can come visit him any time.

  16. Bennett, lots and lots of things work on most cats, but my Abys were different. Even the vet used to give up and inject them because they couldn't get the pills down. :( Tuna fish and crushed pills just meant that the tuna juice didn't get touched. And they were very good at hiding pills under their tongues and spitting them out later. I'd find pills under the bed when I swept. It was a contest and they always won, especially the senior cat. Drops were not much better - I've been *covered* in liquid antibiotics!

  19. The ads I see on your page are for adult chat rooms. Very weird.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Haha..a hippy kitty..nice..14 ? wow.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh wow, now the ads are about adult chat rooms.

Max is a hippy? Hi Cor.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Well, thank goodness you see adult chatroom ads, because if I saw those and you saw catfood ads, what would that say about me?? omg

    ReplyDelete
  23. Haha..get premium..no ads.
    I'm allergic too...its a curse when you can't
stop the sneezing and tears. I guess the new Daughter in law won't be spending the night any time soon. =)

  24. I usually get ads about cemeteries so adult chat rooms are different.

She doesn't have to spend the night they don't live that far away from me...maybe 30 miles.

  25. MAXI-POO!!
    I miss Max.
You could try the brush that I use on Bessie. This link is for the Furminator, but my version is a knock off that I got for $20.00. It REALLY helps to keep the shedding down.

  26. Oh, and they DO make pretty duct tape...if you go to Michael's, you can get it in all kinds of colors, even pepto-bismol pink!

  27. I can hardly believe my eyes...you have a cat now?! First you started off slow by "cat-sitting" and now you're a cat mom? Wow, I can't believe it. I know Max will love living with you...you probably spoil him rotten already! ... still can't believe it... but stranger things have happened I suppose LOL...and stay away from the duct tape..it can only lead to trouble!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Look at those eyes!!! Max is very beautiful....and yes he does have long hair....and I'm sure David misses him!!

  29. Dorene, I posted a comment to you on my other blog post. I'm more surprised by the fact that I have a cat now than anyone.

    Thanks Toni.

I've even seen camouflage duct tape in catalogs. We should get some Jen.

    Sharon thanks for the link.
