Today I’m remembering “Cat” (Carol) who left us one year ago today. She died on
REMEMBERING
Without words,
Night speaks to the day,
The clouds with the Earth;
And the rocks of their birth.
Man uses many words
To hide his heart
From the Great-Spirit;
But the Heart remembers
Who created it.
The Voice of Spirit
Thunders over the deserts,
Echoes in the mountains
And rolls over broad waters...
The Heart remembers that Voice.

ReplyDeleteBennett, none of us knew Walker except through Cat's writing. He passed away some year's before. He was a Shaman and her teacher. She studied with him about 10 years I believe. She was wise and made a lasting impression on me. Through her I have found a new, very dear friend in Skylark (Cat used to write of their times together and their experiences with Walker). In that way, Cat has continued to gift me.
ReplyDeleteVery apt... and thanks for reminding me that it was today. As I said on my own post, I "knew" it was this week, but...
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter and you're quite welcome.
ReplyDeletewow..can't believe its a year already..
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Cat but I hope she is on a new journey now. I also wanted to say that I really liked the poem, Her words remind me of some of my paintings. Nature being the predominate theme...
ReplyDelete.
Erika I'm glad you liked the poem. I suspect that Druids and Shamans have a lot in common.
ReplyDeleteManley it doesn't seem possible that a year has gone by does it?
CJ - love this poem!
ReplyDeleteKristin, I'm glad you liked the poem too.
