Under the Weather - 11/6/07

I'm under the weather here.  I came down with what I thought was a cold yesterday morning, but by last evening I had chills and a slight fever.  Went to bed at 8:30 p.m. and slept for 14 hours.  Today I have a squeaky voice, a stuffed up head, but no fever yet.  Fun, fun, fun.

We've had several calls from Georgetown over the last few days, but things there are still uncertain.  I've surrendered to whatever process is going on.  If its meant to happen it will, if it isn't it won't.  Every now and then I have to come back to the realization that I'm not in charge of the whole world and its workings.  I know!  What a shock that must be for you all to read as well.

Now that I'm sick, I have permission to do nothing so that's what I'm doing.  Nothing.

On a lighter note, we went out for a short time yesterday morning because Warren wanted to get my birthday present (no, its not my birthday, but sometime this month).  He got me a Roomba which is a robotic vacuum cleaner.  I love this thing.  It does surprisingly well and the real beauty of it is that it goes under the beds and other furniture and I don't have to.  I've been talking about getting one for awhile but always worried that it would be a waste of money.  I'm here today to say it wasn't.

I may be doing nothing, but my robot friend (seen above) is working its little battery off :-)

  4. Sorry you are under the weather but I love the new vacuum. I may ask for one for Christmas. It is hard for me to get under stuff with my creaky ol' back. And besides I genuinely hate housework.

  8. Thanks everyone. I hope I feel better soon too. Not only does it clean but its fun to watch.

Jen I kept imagining you two kittens chasing it around the house and riding on it. Now that would be entertainment.

  11. Where does it store the dirt? With all the pet hair the dog leaves lying around, I'd imagine it would encounter one of the daily dust bunnies and spin 'round in fear for it's life!!

I'm glad you have allowed yourself some do-nothing time. It's good for you!

  12. I've been trying to come up with an excuse for getting a Roomba myself. So, you think getting sick would do it? Your cure sounds just like what I do. Sometimes these long sleeps avoid much worse consequences. And I never remember dreams until I'm well caught up. :>)

  13. Hope you feel better my dear and I want one of those! It would chase Gizmo around and that would be reason enough to get it! Pure entertainment. :) Take it easy, my dear and enjoy some downtime.

  14. sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. hope whatever ails you clears up soon. I still have no stone hard answers on what is wrong with my brain yet. The Roomba sounds so entertaining, but then again I am well-known for being easily amused. plus it would be hilarious to watch my daughters teacup chihuahua react to it as well as my rottweiler. the rotti would prolly run from it and the ch would bark its head off at it. My son would prolly try to ride it.

  15. Manley, thanks I'm trying to.

Sharon, it has a container which you have to empty and filters that I guess I'll have to purchase more of.

Tom, I'm trying to figure out how you'd get the Roomba to work in the Prius. Rule #1: Nomads don't vacuum.

Rose I think the entertainment value of this thing is worth the money.

Princess, I think I must be easily amused as well.
