Winter in the Mid-Atlantic - 2/18/10
This is what happens when you have 2 blizzards within a week of each other. You end up with piles of snow that will probably still be with us in April. They were running out of places to pile the snow. Luckily my car was in the garage. I never lost power so was pretty comfortable throughout. I was alone during the first blizzard but my granddaughter was here for 8 days after the second one. Schools were closed for over a week. Surprisingly enough, I'm not concerned about global warming at this point in time.

They were having a show about snow in northern Florida and "all the fun" the people were having in this "once in a lifetime event". I wanted to clobber them. They have no clue. That (your picture) is serious snow.
ReplyDeleteIts more snow than we've ever had for one winter in this area, and the winter isn't over yet. It was kind of interesting to see. I was really glad I didn't have to go out in it.
ReplyDeleteI live in Michigan and this is beyond my memory with the exception of the blizzard of 1979.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but it's been fun to talk about at least.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of snow, glad you could avoid getting out into it.
ReplyDeleteGosh, someone had some serious shovelling to do.
ReplyDeleteBrrrrrrrrr!!! I love Northern CA.Haven't had to shovel snow since 1975.
ReplyDeleteToronto is just getting some snow now. We have had barely any snow all winter but now we are expecting snow for the next four days. We could get anywhere from five to twenty centimeters. Compared to the year that our mayor Mel Lastman called in the army this is nothing.
ReplyDeleteTa.

We had a good dumping of the white stuff yesterday, but have been snowless pretty much all winter. I could smell spring in the air on Sunday, which was pretty funny. I am glad you had company for the second blizzard. It's more cosy that way.
