In the Medical Zone.....Again - 6/2/09

I made a decision a week or so ago to not delay having the surgery that was recommended for me.  I reached a point where I just felt like putting it off was taking up too much of my energy and holding me back.  Since I made the decision, things have moved quickly.  I met with the surgeon on Saturday and am scheduled for a hysterectomy on June 11th.  He will do the surgery laproscopically so the recovery time will be about 2 weeks as opposed to 2 months.   He told me that 27% of these conditions are cancerous or pre-cancerous.  I pointed out to him that that meant 73% were not.  He just smiled.  I'm fairly sure that its not.

Part of my rationale for putting things off until the Fall was that I spent five years with oconologists in the belly of the whale with Warren and did not want to go there again.  Life takes you where you're supposed to go I guess.  I expect to breeze through this and be back on my feet in record time.

I moved all my old Yahoo 360 blogs over to their new platform Yahoo Profile just to save them.  I'm not sure if I'll use that too.  I'm already on Facebook, Twitter and Multiply how much exposure do I really need?

  1. I am happy you are staying here. You have had that same wonderful avatar since I first met you almost 2 years ago. (Well, once you were a pilgrim for a few days.) You have no idea how comforting I find your avatar.

As for docs, I am so glad you pointed out the glass was 73% full. They must have "Gloom 101" on the doctor curriculum. We will all rejoice when you are proved correct.

  2. I'll keep you wrapped tight in my smoke all this month! I have come to a point where I no longer question any more too. Things happen when they are suppose to whether we want them to or not, it is much easier to just except them and deal with our emotions when the time comes.

I love your out look on this (73%). Your a wise and wonderful woman and I admire you! I am on twitter also...look me up if you have time, would love to follow you.

  4. I always find a smile here. Thank you Ladies. I will look you up Jerene and Nym. I do plan on saying "I told you so!" when proven correct. Thanks for liking my Avatar Bennett. Is it still an Avatar if its my actual picture from 2005?

  5. Well, that was poorly said. The "avatar" you use has come to represent to me everything I enjoy about our bloggy encounters and comments and messages and the kindness you have shown me. That's what I meant.

  7. I'm glad you're having the surgery, although I do understand the reluctance. We'll be praying for a complete speedy recovery...and it sure is nice they can do everything laproscopically now.

  8. Good luck with your surgery.
Do the doctors suspect abnormal cell growth?
I know of a herbal remedy that is supposed to help with abnormal cell growth in the bowl. I figure it couldn't hurt for other parts of the body as well.
This remedy is called Chlorophyll. It is what makes plants green. There is liquid and pill forms of Chlorophyll. I prefer the liquid. You put about a tea spoon to an eight ounce glass of water and stir. It is available at your closest health food store.
It could aide in your recovery.

  10. Wow - not the greatest news, but atleast you are taking care of it and hopefully will be back, with a breeze, in no time. As for exposure - I hear you! I just want to find a new 360, but I don't think it's in the new 360 - their platform is so boring, no decorating at all. I'm sorry but that just doesn't work for me. Need color.

  11. I agree Kristin. I only moved over to the new Yahoo profile to save all my old blogs.

I hope to be better than ever in no time flat.
