A Little Rumi - 3/10/09
“The minute I heard my first love story I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don't finally meet somewhere. They're in each other all along.”
Kellianah, all of Rumi's poetry is spiritual because he's always talking about God as the beloved. It just doesn't always sound that way does it? No I haven't read the other, but I will look into it.
Star 54, I actually saw that quote printed on a plaque yesterday so I looked it up when I got home. I thought about buying the plaque but they wanted $85 dollars for it.
That "lovers are always in you", is a beautiful thing to know and I am beginning to see that this it is so:) I just posted a blog about haiku. Have you written any, because I think you would be good at it? I always love the poetry that you post and will check out Rumi for sure now because I love God and Nature. Thanks Cheryl:)

Lots of lovely stuff there....

ReplyDeleteI like the quote, but I think what does it for me is the pairing with this picture, since I know what it is. Nice match on many levels.
ReplyDeleteBTW, have fun tonight!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon, for both the comments.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quote - more like a song of the heart.

You could make your own art with the quote. A local craft store might give you some ideas and it would probably cost a lot less than $85.00.
ReplyDeleteGood idea Ingrid, I might make my own art with this poem at some point in time.
ReplyDeleteWhen you feel up to it:)
